DAINTY - OPSIN [BRD004]

UK artist Dainty returns with “opsin”, the first instalment in his new 589 series – a sonic and visual body of work shaped by minimalism, precision, and control. Originally from Nottingham and now based in Manchester, Dainty has previously received support from BBC Radio 1 (Track ID, Dancefloor Moment, Peak Time Mix), appeared on Spotify’s Genre Glitch, and released material via Nervous Records and Part Four. “opsin” arrives via his independent label, Buried.

Rooted in UK Garage, Leftfield Bass, and the outer edges of Techno, “opsin” is a tightly- wound track that hums with pressure rather than release – immersive, finely detailed and genre-pushing. As Dainty puts it: “It’s made for the outskirts of the dancefloor.”

The artwork is inspired by a macro image of a ladybird’s spot under 589nm sodium light, turning the insect’s signature vibrant red into yellow. This mirrors the track’s philosophy: that small, deliberate details can carry disproportionate weight.
