Manchester-based Producer & Selector Dainty showcases a concoction of UK-rooted emotive dance music. Owing much of his influences from his hometown of Nottingham, he was raised on a diet of Grime, Garage, 90’s House and Baseline. Dainty has received notable support from BBC Radio 1 (Track ID, Dance Floor Moment, Peak Time Mix) and appeared on Spotify’s Genre Glitch.
His last EP “How It Slips Away” showcased his leftfield sonic explorations. The lead single ‘Northbound’ achieved the Dance floor moment on BBC Radio 1. Self-released under his independent label, Buried, the release marked a new chapter in his career following his stint with Part Four and NYC’s Nervous Records.
The name “Dainty” holds significance reflecting his English and Jamaican upbringing. In tradition, his relatives nicknamed him “Dainty Dainty” due to his small size as a baby. The name contrasts his bold sound, which is built for big dance floors.
